MOUNT TARANAKI

Mount Taranaki is a beautiful active volcano in New Zealand.

Mount Taranaki (formerly also called Mount Egmont) is a stratovolcano on the southwest coast of the North Island, near New Plymouth.

This volcano is still active, although the last eruption occurred around 170 years ago.

There is a park around the volcano with the same name, with many trails. The photos below were taken along one of the trails on the mountain foothills.

About the Possum: the Common Brushtail Possum is a marsupial introduced from Australia into New Zealand and now creates considerable agricultural and environmental damage into this country.
